I graduated as a nurse in 1988, and the first 6 years of employment were shared between medical and surgical departments. Afterwards, I worked 7 years in intensive care unit, where I was trained as intensive nurse specialist. In 2001 I started at the Respiration Center East Ambulatory, Copenhagen University Hospital, where I worked for 8 years and this is when I became interested in research. In 2007, I was admitted at Lund University for a doctorate in medical research science (DM.Sc.), which I recived in 2012. I was employed for 4 years in the Interdisciplinary Pain Center, Copenhagen University Hospital, as a project nurse working with various research methods and four years in the Neuroscience Centre, Copenhagen University Hospital as research leader for nurses. May 2017, I started at Department of Surgery, Zealand University Hospiltal, and February 2018, I was employed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in a shared employment between SDU and the Surgical Department of Zealand University Hospital. Overall, I have researched since 2001 focusing on sleep, pain and sexuality using qualitative and quantatine metods and with still more involving patients as partner.
