    Organisation profile

Psychiatric Center South in the Zealand region has a long and successful research history, which we have the ambitions to re-establish and develop further in the future.

Our philosophy is to build on the already existing resources and good examples we have and in such a way to stimulate research to fall on its natural track and start giving "fruits" in "Oringe" unique way.

Psychiatry South consists of a psychiatric hospital with several wards with different profiles.

Open and closed psychiatric wards specializing in the treatment of various psychiatric problems such as psychotic conditions, affective disorders, personality structure disorders, dual diagnoses, ward for elderly psychiatry and psychiatric emergency department.

We have an emergency outpatient team as part of our organization and a center therapy with long-standing traditions in the development of creative activities as part of the treatment of both patients admitted to the hospital and to patients in our outpatient units.

We currently have two PhD employed. They are working towards developing psychotherapeutic methods for patients with Schizotypal mental illness and with new possibilities for psychopathological assessment for patients with social phobia and anxiety.

Our Center Therapy is engaged in research on the implementation of creative activities as part of occupational therapy for psychiatric patients and has several publications on the subject.

Our research focus areas are anxiety, personality disorders, creative occupational therapy, ECT, and psychopathology.

We also have research background in forensic psychiatry and prevention of aggression in psychiatric patients.
