Our research focus on questions generated from daily clinical work in obstetrics. Dept. of Gynecology and Obstetrics has an associate professor who is associated to Faculty of Health Science University of Copenhagen and to the "House of Research" at Holbæk Hospital We perform clinical intervention studies as well as populations-based register studies. We have research -cooperation with researches at other universities, Statens Serum Institut and with clinicians from other hospitals in and outside Denmark. We initiate individual clinical studies, PHD projects involving doctors, midwives, research-year-students and other health care personals. Main research areas are:
Short- and long-term complication related to cesarean section and consequences of planned mode of delivery (vaginal or cesarean)
Operative techniques for cesarean section
Rare severe complications in obstetrics and there relation to cesarean section
Uterine rupture, risk factors and consequences
Handling of pregnancy and delivery in women with previous cesarean delivery
Mode of breech delivery
Methods for induction of labour
Role of socioeconomic factors in obstetrics
The impact of obesity in pregnancy on intrauterine growth, ultrasound examinations, and growth and development of the offspring
