The tolerogenic immune response modulated by cancer cells: with a focus on the role of T cells and HLA class Ib molecules in breast cancer

Publikation: Bog/antologi/afhandling/rapportPh.d.afhandlingpeer review

Abstract

The present thesis covers several aspects of immune-modulating
mechanisms in breast cancer. First, from a basic science perspective, a characterization of HLA-G regulation and HLA expression and how it can be manipulated. Second, from a clinical perspective, investigation of T cell markers and their association with survival in BRCA-mutated breast cancer, and investigation of peripheral immune markers and transcriptome analysis of peripheral blood and tumor-infiltrating immune cells, especially regulatory T cells, in breast cancer patients and healthy blood donors, also analyzed in relation to clinical parameters.
