Abstract
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a recurrent, inflammatory skin disease that usually presents after puberty with painful, deep-seated, inflamed lesions in the axillary, inguinal and anogenital regions. Severity assessment of HS however remains an important challenge. Until now, more than 30 methods/tools, mostly poorly validated, have been proposed. None has been universally accepted. The large number of available methods/tools and the lack of a gold-standard comparator makes comparing studies difficult.
