Abstract

Diagnosing nail diseases is more and more often helped by imaging techniques. The objective of this chapter is to give a complete updated review of the input of dermoscopy, digital dermoscopy and proximal nail fold capillaroscopy in the clinical management of several nail tumors and systemic diseases. Ultrasound imaging also offers helpful information in both inflammatory and tumoral diseases of the nail unit. Magnetic resonance imaging has also been used for the diagnosis and presurgical management of many nail unit tumors and is also currently used for the evaluation of inflammatory conditions such as psoriatic rheumatism.
