Implementing and Assessing Advanced Home-Monitoring in eHospital

Projektdetaljer

Lægmands beskrivelse

This project explores how advanced, AI-powered health monitoring can safely support patients who receive treatment at home instead of in the hospital.

The technology, called WARD-CSS (Wireless Assessment of Respiratory and Circulatory Distress – Clinical Support System), is a Danish-developed system that continuously tracks important health indicators using small wireless sensors. It alerts healthcare staff if a patient shows early signs of getting worse - so that help can be provided quickly.

The system is especially relevant for early discharge patients receiving IV treatment, admission avoidance patients and COPD patients.

Key Focus Areas
Care Pathways: Understanding how WARD-CSS alters collaboration between hospital teams, municipal care providers, and patients.
Technical Integration: Ensuring stability, data security, and interoperability with eHospital’s digital infrastructure.
Ethical Frameworks: Balancing autonomy, privacy, satisfaction and safety in continuous home monitoring.
Logistical Challenges: Addressing device maintenance protocols, such as cleaning and return processes.
Organizational Readiness: Defining clear roles and responsibilities for how staff should respond to alarms and alerts.
