Projektdetaljer
Beskrivelse
The PACT project explores new ways to carry out clinical trials that do not rely on patients visiting hospitals or traditional clinical trial sites. With advances in digital tools and healthcare technologies, parts of—or even entire—clinical trials can now take place in people’s own homes or local communities.
The goal of the project is to make it easier for people to access information about clinical trials and take part in them without needing to travel. This supports a broader shift in healthcare, where services are delivered closer to the patient, rather than mainly in hospitals.
The Role of the Community Healthcare System
In Work Package 3 (WP3) of the PACT project, Det Nære Sundhedsvæsen is helping to map out the opportunities and challenges related to conducting clinical trials at home. The work focuses on how the existing infrastructure of eHospital, Region Zealand can support decentralized trials. This includes home visits, digital tools, and local coordination.
Key Areas of Focus
The work includes an in-depth look at:
Infrastructure – How the eHospital’s setup for delivering care at home can also support the delivery of clinical trial activities such as blood sampling or remote monitoring.
Healthcare Staff – What roles healthcare professionals can play in supporting trial tasks in the home setting.
Patient Needs – What people expect and need to feel comfortable and safe participating in clinical trials from their own homes.
This work is a step toward making clinical research more inclusive, flexible, and centered around the patient.
